Friendship in Chaos
Pinkie didn't know how long they'd been together really, it felt like a few weeks but the way the sun and moon zoomed up and down randomly left time multiple levels of distorted. Not that she minded.
She loved every minute of it. She even loved waving happily down at Twilight and the others as she and Discord raced across the sky in a pair of high speed, floating bathtubs.
They'd chased after her as fast as they could but Pinkie and her darling Discord had decided that day that flapping your wings should make you sink instead of fly and any chance they had of catching up quickly vanished.
Now, here she was, curled up between Discord's cool, furry body and Gummy's warm scales.
Not wanting to leave him out Pinkie had decided Gummy should change colors and for some reason the gator was now both warm and occasionally floated about their cloud palace.
It was great!
Discord stretched contently, wrapping his paw around Pinkie's belly and pulling her against his chest.
"Hey! Haha!" the little
Reunited Doesn't Feel So Good
Traveling to Discord's 'Cloud Castle' proved even more difficult than the five friends had imagined. In this warped, distorted world nothing ever was as it seemed and distance and depth perception were certainly fine examples of it.
"Ugh, this must be how Derpy Hooves feels!" Rainbow Dash groaned, her wings flapping wildly but sending her in all the wrong directions, especially down. "Poison Joke was better than this! At least than I KNEW when I was about to hit something, it didn't just run out in front of me!"
"I know it's frustrating girls but I think we're almost there." Twilight reassured them as best she could but sure enough, the castle continued to allude them. One moment it would be a mere few yards away, the next it would be miles. Trying to fly to it meant hitting an 'invisible wall' or getting swarmed by flying pigs and floating pies, and all that was provided you could even getting yourself off the ground! The whole ordeal was starting to take it's toll on the group
The Madness of King Discord
"Those accursed ponies!" Discord hissed, storming back and forth atop his cotton candy clouds.
Who did they think they were? Taking his Pinkie away like that! Filling her head with peaceful...peaceful sense!
Harmony was dull, friendship was boring!
She didn't need friends! She just needed him. He made her laugh more than they ever could!
She had to go with them.
Well, fine. He didn't need her anyway. He only needed himself. In his chaotic little world it was just him and his nonsensical creations.
As it should be...
"ARGH!" He pulled at his ears, growling loudly and falling back, a large, extremely comfy chair appearing just in time to catch him. "Why won't you get out've my head you little-"
The Chaos spirit growled and sunk low in his chair.
How did this end up happening? He had always been fine on his own, ruling Equestria in chaos, the echo of his own laughter all the company he needed...but now?
A More Than Friendly Offer
And so it was done.
The Elements of Harmony were lost and the ponies who once wielded them? Their spirits were broken.
As was their friendship.
Discord smiled proudly to himself. Coiled around the top of what was once Celestia and Luna's grand palace he once again felt like a King.
And a jester...and..well..anything else he damn well pleased!
He was the new-old ruler of Equestria and he was gonna have more fun than ever before!
He'd crack the ground and boil the surface of the world in molten hot cocoa, mountains would crumble into rock candy, the oceans would become sticky taffy!
It'd be great!
Discord's laughter echoed through Canterlot, sending the ponies below into even more of a frenzy.
All but one.
The dragonokis' ears perked at the sound of a strangely familiar sobbing.
"Ahh, Pinkie Pie." His voice was dark and uncharacteristically serious as he slithered down from his palace perch.
Pinkie sat in the now vacant patch of dirt where the palace labyrin
Hot Chocolate 'n Explanations
By the time Pinkie had regained consciousness she'd all but forgotten her trip through the labyrinth.
The fighting, the balloon garden, the elements..all just foggy shapes in the back of her mind.
She fully expected to open her eyes and see her cozy room in Sugarcube Corner, her little body wrapped safe and warm in the blanket Mrs. Cake had so generously given her...
Pinkies eyes shot open.
She wasn't in her bed, she wasn't in Sugarcube Corner and she most certainly wasn't curled up in a warm blanket...
Instead she found herself high above Equestria, looking up into the endless blue of the sky while below her the sound of pouring rain and a bizarre popping sound echoed throughout the land.
Memories flooded the Party Pony's mind.
The Labyrinth, Discord, her friends laughing-
Her ears dropped immediately, her eyes squeezing shut tightly.
"N-no I...how did-?"
"Ah, you're awake my dear!" Discord's voice sounded so happy and full've optimis
Breaking Up Is Hard to Do
Discord's chaos had become familiar to Twilight all-to-quickly.
Candy raining from the sky, buildings made of cardboard, inanimate objects dancing and laughing, a whole slew of bizarre and constant nonsense.
The chaos spirit had always been threatening, but in an unsettling, uncontrollable way.
Now, looming over the group with dark clouds swirling around him and an expression of pure malice, he looked positively evil.
"I'm so terribly sorry, my little ponies. Did I ruin your little bull session? Here I was thinking I was invited to the party only to find it's apparently a 'turn-Discord's-friend-against-him' hatchet job."
His pupils narrowed, eyes focused on Twilight.
"Hatchet job my hoof!" She snapped back, stamping her hoof on the ground and lowering her head and ears in defiance. "We told Pinkie Pie the truth! And now that the six of us are back together, nothing can stop us!"
"Oh, bleh." Discord rolled his eyes, his tongue lolling out've his mouth to emp
